No one in the group is a qualified florist but we take home an arrangement that we are very proud to

display.

In December the group met for an excellent lunch at The Royal Oak at Clatford where we discussed our efforts of the previous year and all agreed that we had all learnt a lot and felt more confident with flowers.

January’s topic was ‘A Hint of Spring’. This proved quite difficult because the extreme cold weather had left our gardens looking somewhat bare. With just a few purchased flowers we still managed to create an arrangement that we were proud to take home. ‘Just Foliage’ was our chosen theme for February (yes, you may have seen us with secateurs trimming the hedgerows to gather material). Again, this was a very successful afternoon arranging the foliage that we had gathered into a pleasing arrangement.

It is not necessary to have any previous experience in Floral Art to join the group; we are all learning from each other. The afternoon is spent arranging flowers, a cup of tea and a good natter, putting the world to rights, a very relaxing and pleasant way to spend time with friends.
